Saturday April 22nd

Keyhams Under 11's completed their league programme with this game at North Down Park to end a season that has been truly magnificent - a season that has seen them manage wins against every side in their division.
This match ebbed and flowed as both sides dominated for long periods.
Plymouth Rangers had an early 35 yard goal from a free kick ruled out for offside - their forwards ruled to have been interferring with play.
Keyham then had a phase where near misses from several players should have buried the match before Plymouth Rangers took the lead.
Keyham then had several chances to draw level before their Goalkeeper was carried off the pitch injured and was unable to return.
Seconds later Rangers were 0-2 up as a their fluid forwards beat the static Keyham defence to easily slide the ball past Keyhams substitute keeper.
Keyham pulled a goal back with 6 minutes to go through Captain fantastic and the best was yet to come as the scores were levelled with the last kick of the match - a rocket 35 yard direct free kick which just glanced in off the underside of the bar to make the final score 2-2.

Mayflower League

The final match of the season is now fixtured for 22nd April 2006 with a 11:30 Kick Off at North Down. All players there ready for training at 11:00 and bring some money for the Presentation Tickets and Raffle!

Mayflower Cup Semi Final

Keyham started this semi-final the livlier side with but their early pressure was not utilised, too many of their players were struck down with stage fright.
Keyhams had enough chances to put the game out of reach before the defence twice played self destruct to gift Plymouth Rangers a 0-2 Half Time lead.
Keyham came out brighter in the second half and pulled a goal back almost from the kick.

Rangers however restored their 2 goal advantage with a stunning 35 yard dipping shot which would have beaten most goal keepers in this age group.
This caused the Keyham players to drop their heads and there was no way back for them. Rangers scored 3 late goals to take a thoroughly deserved 1-6 win.
A dissapointment but the reality was that too many players had bad days.

The players and management of Keyham Kolts would like to congratulate Plymouth Rangers on their win and wish them every sucess for the final.

9th April 2006

The U11’s went down 6-2 to Elm Utd at North Down Park. The score line would have been much closer were it not for 3 disallowed goals, with one individual suffering his 3rd disallowed goal in 5 days– all by the SAME REFEREE!

Tuesday 4th April 2006
Another fine win by the U11 saw them complete their away programme in the league.
A convincing 0-2 win at Tip Site saw them beat a spirited Mayflower.
A goal in each half followed an early dissalowed goal by Keyhams leading scorer.

Thursday 30th March 2006

Heavy rain before kick off failed to stop this match as the Kolts used the match as a warm up for their Saturday Cup match. An early Keyham goal was cancelled out by the gift of a needless penalty as the sides traded shots to go to the break at 1-1

Keyham came out in the second half much stronger and seemingly as the pitch began to dry out they improved. Soon after half time the Kolts took a 2-1 lead which they never really looked like surrendering.

The Southway goal was under seige as their magnificent goalkeeper saved shot after shot as he went on toclaim man of the match. The post rescued Southway twice as the team finished 2-1 to go 5 points clear at the top.

Next match Saturday 13:00 v Plymouth Rangers at Tothill # 4. Players there by 12:15 please!

The match against Tavistock has been advanced to 11:30. This was necesarry to obtain the services of a referee who wouln't have been available for the 13:00 KO.

25th February 2006

A close, well battled match saw Keyham edge this game 4-3. Pensilva took the lead with a splendid direct free kick but Keyham drew level within 30 seconds. Pensilva had the ball in the net in the dying moments but it was ruled out by referee. A good result for the boys who now have only 6 league fixtures to end of season.

16th February 2006

As the league brought forward the Mayflower Cup match, this left the team without a fixture for this day. Initially it had been planned to play a friendly, but Pensilva at short notice agreed to play a league fixture at North Down with a 11:30 KO. Thanks Ian! This hopefully should help us avoid a backlog of midweek fixtures at the end of the season.
